How is that not antisemitic?

Exactly, nothing.

No need to drag it into every thread - all it does is trivialize the conversation and makes people tune it out

> Yes- I recognize that, and I don't mean to take things as a personal attack - but living in a country where we're a tiny minority of the population - and many people (even often your 'friends') casually hate and make fun of your people, it's easy to assume people mean harm.
"I don't mean to take things as attack": I mean your answer indicates you took it as an offense but ok.
But literally this is a problem with all races and religions not only jews, Asian memes, when an Asian complains about it they tell him to be more open minded about jokes, jokes about Muslims being terrorists, oh c'mon chill just be open minded don't get offended.... everyone is facing discrimination in movies through the form of jokes. It is wrongful ofcourse but it is a thing in our society, I faced the same problems with discrimination and I understand you
> With that sort of treatment happening for thousands of years in foreign countries where they had no sanctuary, and no political representation - you can understand why zionism was such a strong and increasingly militant force - Jews were desperate to leave Europe after millions dead and thousands of years of persecution.
> Really the only other viable option besides mandatory palestine after WW2 was the USA (which had and still has tons of neo-nazis, white supremecists, and racists) - and about half did emigrate there.
Let me simplify it with an example
I am living in my house peacefully and someone comes, he needs a shelter, he is homeless and he needs where to stay, I agree, the next day he sues me and takes a room from my house legally, I obviously refuse and asks him to leave since it is my house that I worked hard to build, he uses violence and takes more of my house, the trend continues until I get kicked out of it and I am homeless now
Do you think that the homeless despite living in pain, has the right to take someone else's house by force?
What could have been done was buying land and make your country instead of taking it by force, in that case it would have been rightful.
And no mandatory Palestine wasn't the only choice.
They chose palastine because they would easly convince all the jews to go there with religion, because otherwise if they take another country there is nothing pushing anyone to go there
> I wish I'd see peaceful coexistence in the region, but I think the hard truth to swallow is that enough jews and muslims want total control that war will just continue and continue... and each generation of leaders grew up in that violence and knows nothing else.
Peace cannot be achieved under an apertude regime
Jews and Palestinians can easly coexist under a fair government, jews can be Palestinians if they wanted
But taking someone's land and saying it is his fault for wanting his land back is illogical
> In my opinion - the best chance for peace was for the arab states to accept the UN partition plan...
The best chance for peace was either living as Palestinians under a fair Palestinian government or buying land, taking forcefully someone's land cannot be justified by any means

Y'know maybe this is a bad time to try to expand Godwin's Law when Godwin himself is saying, "No, seriously, Trump is a nazi and the comparison is entirely fair."

true, but i didn't say that the person who used it had lost the argument. i just said that it would get more and more common .jews have been kicked out of whole countries in the past, but not kill in cold blood.

I'm sorry, this is very silly. It's like saying, "People have compared me to Jeffrey Epstein, excusing the whole "child sex trafficking" stuff that was just Epstein".

Godwin's law is from 1990 and it's true that back in those days it would be extremely rare to run into an actual Nazi or Fascist online.

But it's just not so rare any more.

I remember also that back then Nazi parties used to be a joke in Europe. Jokes were like "They can do their party congress in a phonee booth".

But now there's big parties with these kinda ideas in many European countries.
