Interestingly, when they made Genitalworts Legacy, they made the game all about goblins, and had every opportunity to push back on the whole "goblins as antisemitic caricature" thing. Instead, they dated an artifact from a goblin rebellion to the date of a Jewish pogrom. The artifact just so happens to look like a Shofar. It's *not great*.

Guess I imagined getting into fights with people from the aryan nations wearing swastikas as a kid, guess I was hallucinating when there was a drive by shooting of the local temple, I must have been dreaming when I saw a man spit on a little girl as she left synagogue... Yes- I recognize that, and I don't mean to take things as a personal attack - but living in a country where we're a tiny minority of the population - and many people (even often your 'friends') casually hate and make fun of your people, it's easy to assume people mean harm.

With that sort of treatment happening for thousands of years in foreign countries where they had no sanctuary, and no political representation - you can understand why zionism was such a strong and increasingly militant force - Jews were desperate to leave Europe after millions dead and thousands of years of persecution.

Really the only other viable option besides mandatory palestine after WW2 was the USA (which had and still has tons of neo-nazis, white supremecists, and racists) - and about half did emigrate there.

I wish I'd see peaceful coexistence in the region, but I think the hard truth to swallow is that enough jews and muslims want total control that war will just continue and continue... and each generation of leaders grew up in that violence and knows nothing else.

In my opinion - the best chance for peace was for the arab states to accept the UN partition plan...

Reminds me more of Gollum than the Harry Potter goblins. Gollum, but in big numbers, with a lot of rings of power, for each Gollum like 1000 rings, and the Gollums express a big greed with their _precious_ rings.
