1a and 1b are Sicilian Alapin, not Morra.

In my opinion the Sicilian Morra gambit is one of the most dangerous gambits, and also one which is underestimated by some.

Here's some weblinks which might be interesting :

Well, 1a and 1b _are_ actually the ways to refute a gambit, pretty good and very popular ways, I would say. I will check the links, thank you, but I am afraid we went too far to offtopic.
I think, firstly, we have to understand what a gambit is.

"It is the action which we sacrifice material with the main idea to have an immediate positional advantage or long term ideas".

Therefore, we see that in the Morra the main idea of:

1. To destroy black's center.
2. To have a faster development of pieces than black ones.

For example:

1. e4, c5.
2. d4, cxd4
3. c3, dxc3.
4. Cxc3.

To avoid this, I usually play 3. e5, and now, the battle is basicly positional.
