It is incredibly important, @SamuelCaplan - Trump encouraged his supporters to derail and change the results of a fairly held election. You don't see this happen in liberal democracies with a developed rule of law. You don't even see this in most banana republics. Who was the last one - Ortega? It's been 30 years since Noriega's last election.

I also think, based on some of what I have readhere, that the average age skews young who don't yet have a developed world view. And that's fine, too - rule of law and institutional integrity are complex and somewhat esoteric, and it's hard to gauge what an erosion in that trust means in the short term, and can be difficult to grasp in the medium to long term.

For whatever it's worth, I agree with you even if you were slightly inflammatory and hyperbolic, but your initial post didn't exactly open up anything for discussion.

The US became a shithole country before yesterday's fiasco. That happened last summer when the BLM and Antifa Biden supporters burned and looted and assaulted innocent citizens and their property without being arrested or prosecuted .
