Swiss Tournaments on Lichess

I don't know about you guys, but I'd definetly appreciate it if Lichess introduced Swiss Style tournaments, rather than arenas. These tournament formats would be kind of similar to those on chess.com or ICC; what do you guys think?

I believe they used to have an option when creating tournaments to make it either Arena style or Swiss style... don't know what happened to that, they should bring it back.

I would also love this kind of tournament. +1 to this suggestion to bring back something that appears to have been removed.

Only way I will ever play tournaments here is Swiss. I find arena style tournaments incredibly annoying.

Lichess, take this as a suggestion. How about alternating between arena style and swiss tournaments every hour or so?

I believe now there are 6 boards in each team sorted by rating and each board plays with opponents of comparable strength.
I am playing solo tournament however.

Swiss is a great tournament system for chess. Could some adaptations be made to make it more viable on lichess. I would suggest:

* Fixed round times. No increment games would be easier to allow this.
* Players can join or withdraw prior to any round.
* Make the swiss pairing use a zero sum system e.g. -1 loss 0 draw +1 win to match people with similar records. This doesn't need to be displayed score just used for swiss pairings.
* Use the Danish system allowing people to be paired with the same opponent more than once.
